It's testing time again! We can't emphasize enough that all students will not test every session, particularly as you reach the intermediate Gup ranks. Everyone will advance at their own pace, and that is okay.
That being said, for those of you interested in testing this session, the first part of the process is your interview with an instructor. If you want to interview, you will be pulled aside during regular classes on August 18th, 19th, and 21st. Make sure you bring your practice log, your testing application, and your previous testing results to the interview. If you pass your interview, you will immediately take your written test. To study for your written test, we suggest reviewing previous tests, reading your handbook, and practicing old newsletter quizzes.
After you've passed your interview and written exam, you can proceed to the physical test. During regular classes on Monday, August 25th we will focus on reviewing for the test, so have your questions ready. For beginners, testing will be held on Tuesday, August 26th at 6:45 PM. For advanced students, testing will be Thursday, August 28th at 6:45 PM. We will not be answering questions the day of the test, so make sure you are prepared. Testing requirements for your rank level can be picked up in class or found on this website.
After the Thursday test, we will wrap up the session with pizza and beverages as is our time-honored tradition. All students and families are welcome to join. We will have one week off between sessions, with classes resuming on September 8th. Students will receive their testing results the first week of next session. To all the testing candidates, good luck, relax, and keep your hands up!
